On December 3, 2019, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Khushvakhtzoda Kobiljon Khushvakht visited the water quality analysis laboratory at Akita University in Japan.

An event dedicated to the use of isotope hydrology methods in the study of water resources is currently taking place in Vienna (Austria) at the initiative of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The event starts on January 27 and ends on January 31.

As part of the practical implementation of clause 9.3 of the Action Plan of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Tajikistan and China dated September 7, 2022, and the Protocol of the third meeting of the Tajikistan-China Commission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower, and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Xinjiang Normal University of the People's Republic of China, an Agreement on Cooperation has been signed.

National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation Engineers and Agricultural Mechanization" and International Water Management Institute (IWMI) within the framework of NEXUS GAINS initiative organized the 2nd International Summer School - 2023 "Sustainability Assessment of Water-Energy-Food-Environment Nexus for Irrigated Agriculture: Interdisciplinary Approaches for Central Asia (WEFCA)" on 21-25 August 2023 in Tashkent.

Based on the Plan of scientific and scientific-technical activities in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023 and the plan of scientific activities of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Water Resources, Innovation, Resource and Energy Conservation" dedicated to the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development" was held on 6-7 October 2023 in the hall of the National Patent Information Centre of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
