Participation of specialists in the field of hydrological isotopes and activities of the IAEA

An event dedicated to the use of isotope hydrology methods in the study of water resources is currently taking place in Vienna (Austria) at the initiative of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The event starts on January 27 and ends on January 31.

The seminar was attended by PhD Kodirov Anvar Saidkulovich, Director of the Center for Innovative Development of Science and New Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (specialist in isotope hydrology).

The main goal of this event was to exchange experiences and discuss the use of isotope hydrology methods in the study of water resources, and a list of activities for the further development of this method was developed.

It is worth noting that isotope hydrology is a branch of science that studies the processes of the hydrological cycle using stable and radioactive isotopes. This opens up unique methods for studying water sources, its age, circulation, evaporation and interaction with other components of the environment.

January 28, 2025 Kodirov A.S. gave a presentation in English on the topic “Ensuring water availability in Central Asia amid a changing climate”.
